Hi, my name is Kim.
I have dedicated my life to helping Children, Teens, and Families. I have been a Michigan licensed therapist with a special interest targeting Children and families since 1995 (over 25 years). I have practiced in residential, hospital, adult foster care,Community Mental Health, Integrated Health Care agencies, outpatient and school/home based programing to name a few.
My mission has always been to advocate for families by helping to create a safe and nurturing place for our children, teens, and young adults to grow and develop important social and emotional skills. I also believe in inclusion as being important to the healthy development of your child and your family. Together we can work through most challenges. My treatment approach is strength based and follows the essential principles of building relationships. By teaching and practicing these essential evidence-based techniques, you will learn how to remove barriers and empower your child and family to soar and reach person-centered goals.I am excited to meet you and your family to begin improving skills such as relaxation techniques, affect regulation, and coping strategies.
I choose to utilize Evidence Based Practices (EBP’s) with a Person Centered approach.I teach to the prescribed model for fidelity and require minimum mastery to move through the learning portion but require full mastery of skills for completion with certificate(s) of success.I specialize in T-F CBT, DBT Informed (currently), CBT, and ABA informed techniques to name a few. I enjoy family therapy and PMTO which is beneficial and targets the parent training process. All services are grounded with a Humanistic and Clinical Psychology. All treatments begin with a screening and or assessment to determine medical necessity and followed-up with a psychoeducation session prior to treatment which may include a contract of commitment depending on your goals (s). and outcome desired.
